Making Spirit Visible

For me, making is a way of conjuring essence—seeking the spirit within things: the vital, curious, beautiful, humorous or mysterious, and finding a way to make it visible.

Sometimes I find it in a gesture or an animal, sometimes in light, weather, an ordinary object, or something that appears only after I begin to change what I see.
