Who We Are
Studio LightCatcher is the art and creative practice of Caris Palm Turpen. This policy applies to the Studio LightCatcher website at lightcatcher.com.
Information You Choose to Share
Contact inquiries
When you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, inquiry type, any subject you enter, and your message. We use this information to respond to you and, when relevant, to discuss artwork, commissions, exhibitions, collaborations, or other business matters.
The custom theme sends your submission to the Studio LightCatcher business mailbox and does not keep a separate copy of the message in the WordPress database. The email and any later correspondence may remain in our business email records for as long as reasonably needed.
Sending an inquiry does not subscribe you to marketing email. Please do not include sensitive personal information in the contact form.
Email updates
If you choose to subscribe to Studio LightCatcher email updates, the information shown on the signup form—typically your email address—will be used to send occasional news about artwork, writing, recipes, and studio activity. Studio LightCatcher may use Brevo to manage and deliver these email subscriptions. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link included in each email.
Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, this site and its service providers may receive limited technical information when you visit, such as your Internet Protocol address, browser or device type, requested pages, referring page, and the date and time of the request. This information may appear in server, security, or diagnostic logs and is used to operate, protect, and troubleshoot the site.
To discourage automated abuse, the contact form uses a hidden field, a timing check, and a short-lived rate-limit identifier derived from a visitor’s network address. It is used for security and expires automatically.
Cookies and External Resources
WordPress may use cookies that are necessary for site administration, security, or features you request. Logged-in administrators may receive additional WordPress cookies. Studio LightCatcher does not currently use advertising cookies or sell information gathered through cookies.
The site may request font resources from Google Fonts. As with other externally delivered resources, that provider may receive ordinary technical request information such as an IP address and browser details. Links to other websites are governed by those sites’ own privacy practices.
If analytics, advertising, public comments, online payments, or other data-collecting features are added, this policy and any required consent choices will be updated before those features are used.
How We Use Information
- To answer questions and communicate about requested artwork, services, or opportunities.
- To send email updates when you have chosen to subscribe.
- To operate, secure, maintain, and improve the website.
- To keep appropriate business records and comply with legal obligations.
Where applicable, these uses rely on your consent, steps taken at your request, our legitimate interest in operating a secure creative business, or a legal obligation.
When Information Is Shared
We do not sell or rent your personal information. Information is shared only when reasonably necessary with providers that help operate Studio LightCatcher, such as Bluehost for website hosting and business email, Brevo for newsletter delivery when you subscribe, WordPress and enabled service providers for site operation, and email providers involved in delivering correspondence.
Information may also be disclosed if required by law, to protect legal rights or safety, or in connection with a legitimate transfer of the business. Providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices.
Retention and Security
We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was received, for ordinary business records, or as required by law. Newsletter information is retained until you unsubscribe or request removal, subject to limited suppression records needed to honor that request. Hosting and security logs are retained according to provider settings and operational needs.
Reasonable administrative and technical measures are used to protect information. No website or email system can guarantee absolute security, however.
Your Choices
You may ask what personal information Studio LightCatcher holds about you, or request correction or deletion, by emailing contact@lightcatcher.com. You may also withdraw newsletter consent by using the unsubscribe link in an email. Some information may need to be retained for legal, security, or legitimate recordkeeping purposes.
Children’s Privacy
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. Studio LightCatcher does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the website.
Changes to This Policy
This policy may be revised as the website and its services develop. The effective date at the top of the page will be updated when material changes are made.
