Flat Art

Traditional paint and digital paintings gathered
as a visual journey through light, subject, and imagination.

The debate over the authenticity and relative value of traditional and digital painting continues.

I work in both mediums and understand their differences and similarities, as well as the validity of each as an art form.

The choice between them comes down to what draws me, pun entirely intended, and what makes the work possible in that moment. Having worked in digital formats since the 1980s (yes, I am an old Amiga hound), I’ve had time to develop my skills in that form as well as in physical media.

So, I use both. I hope the resulting art reveals the value of the choices behind it.

Cheers, Caris
